About the event

In the shadow of where the Treaty of Shackamaxon, between William Penn, and Chief Tamenend of the Lenape Turtle Clan, was signed, since the variety of plants, from those that hide in shaded nooks to those flourishing in full sun at the rivers edge. The park isn't huge, but there are dozens of edible and medicinal plants that call this historic site home and will discuss their benefits and uses. We will do a loop beginning at the entrance next to the Penn Treaty sign across from the blue cross bike rack and follow a circular path passing by a descendent of the original elm under which the treaty was signed. Much of this park is in full sun so dress accordingly, bring a hat for Schade sunscreen for protection and water for hydration. As these are the dog days of Summer, we are starting early at 9 o'clock to avoid the most oppressive heat of the day.

Event is free, but please RSVP at the link below.
